Two separate sting operations in Slidell resulted in the arrests of two prostitutes and five drug offenders, police announced Monday.
All of the arrests occurred Friday and involved two undercover operations conducted by the patrol and detective divisions, Slidell Police spokesman Capt. Kevin Foltz said.
During the first operation, detectives used the Internet to make appointments with prostitutes who agree to come to Slidell and meet an undercover agent at an undisclosed motel room in the city, police said.
Early Friday afternoon, detectives arrested James Barrilleaux, 26, of Plaquemine, who arrived at the motel room dressed in a mini-skirt and blonde wig and agreed to perform oral sex on the undercover agent for $150, Foltz said.
Later, detectives arrested Dominique S. Johnson, 22, of Thibodaux, who came to the motel room and agreed to have sex with the agent for $160, Foltz said. Both Barrilleaux and Johnson were booked with prostitution and later released, each on a $669 cash bond, police said.
Foltz said detectives had made appointments with four other suspected prostitutes, all from out of the area, but had to cancel the meetings because of a 3:52 p.m. armed robbery at St. Tammany Homestead Savings and Loan. Police officers in the sting were diverted to the robbery, he said.
In the other operation, undercover agents targeted drug activity at the Deluxe Motel, 1662 Gause Blvd., and arrested five drug offenders between 8 and 11 p.m., Foltz said.
The five asked for drugs and the agents sold them facsimiles of the prescription pain-killer Oxycontin, MDMA or Ecstasy, crack cocaine and marijuana from undercover detectives, Foltz said.
Arrested were:
Wesley D. Alfonso, 24, 31211 May St., Lacombe, booked with attempted possession of MDMA and Oxycontin.
Alaina L. Estaves, 26, 1074 St. Joseph St., Slidell, who was with Alfonso and booked with the same charges.
James E. Clarke, 35, Chandler, Ind., booked with attempted possession of marijuana.
Abraham Thomas, 38, Winston-Salem, N.C., booked with attempted possession of crack cocaine.
Richard N. Poalson, 39, Barberton, Ohio, booked with attempted possession of marijuana and attempted possession of Oxycontin.
Foltz said Detectives Fred Ohler and Brian Brown led both operations and were assisted by officers Brad Hoopes, Chad Olivier and Daniel Seuzeneau .
Anyone with information about illegal drug activity can call the Slidell Police Department's narcotics hotline at 985 649-0640. All calls are kept confidential
